🌸 Bloomly — FAQ

Getting started

Does Bloomly work on iPhone and Android?

Yes. Bloomly is a Progressive Web App (PWA) — open it in your browser and add it to your home screen. On iOS, tap Share → Add to Home Screen. On Android, tap the browser menu and choose Install app. It runs like a native app with no App Store download needed.

Do I need to create an account?

Yes. A parent needs to register a free account to set up the family. Registration takes under a minute — just an email and password. Children do not need their own accounts; they use the app through the family set up by the parent.

Can two parents use Bloomly on separate devices?

Yes. The parent who registers holds the account email and password. To add any other family member — a second parent, another adult, or a child — go to Settings → Add child device to generate an invite code and enter it on the other device. Everyone stays in sync automatically, and both parents can approve tasks, award coins, and manage the family from their own devices.

How many family members can I add?

Up to 5 members (parents and children combined) on the free plan. Premium removes this limit entirely.

What age is Bloomly suitable for?

Bloomly is designed for children aged 6 and over, used together with a parent or guardian. Younger children can still enjoy it with a parent alongside. There's no upper age limit — older children and teenagers are well suited to the full feature set including savings interest, goals, streaks, and the leaderboard.

Features & pricing

What's included in the free plan?

Everything you need to get started: tasks and coin rewards with an approval workflow, allowances, wish lists, withdrawal requests, coin transfers, promises, and CSV export — for up to 5 family members. No credit card required.

What does Premium add, and how much does it cost?

Premium is a low monthly fee and unlocks:

Unlimited family members · Savings goals · Family market · Leaderboard and rankings · Achievements and badges · Family challenges (including seasonal) · Reports and analytics · Push notifications and birthday reminders · Cross-family gifting (grandparents can send coins) · Sanctions for missed tasks

You can cancel at any time from Settings → Manage subscription. If you have a promo code, tap "Have a promo code?" at checkout.

Which currencies are supported?

6 currencies — GBP, USD, EUR, INR, AUD, and CAD. You set a conversion rate so children know exactly what their coins are worth in real money.

Can grandparents or relatives send coins to the children?

Yes, with Premium. Link a grandparent's Bloomly account using an invite code from Settings → Extended family. They can then send coins directly to a child — a parent reviews and approves each gift before the coins arrive. You can revoke the link at any time.

Data & privacy

Where is my family data stored?

Your data is stored securely on our servers (fly.io, London) and kept in sync across your devices. We do not sell, share, or use your data for advertising. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

What happens if I cancel my Premium subscription?

Your account stays active and all your data is preserved. You move back to the free plan — features exclusive to Premium (leaderboard, challenges, cross-family gifting, etc.) will no longer be accessible, but your full history and family data remain intact.

Can I delete my account and all my data?

Yes. Go to Settings → Account → Delete account and confirm with your password. All your data is deleted immediately and permanently. This fulfils your right to erasure under GDPR and UK data protection law.

Is Bloomly safe for children?

Bloomly has no child-facing accounts, no social features, and no third-party advertising. Children interact with the app alongside a parent — a parent PIN protects all approval and financial actions. No personal data about children is shared with third parties. Children under 13 do not need their own account to use Bloomly.
